Perineoplasty is a surgical procedure to repair lax opening of vagina. Difficult childbirth or vaginal tear during childbirth can lead to unusually wide vaginal opening, and, ultimately, lead to less sexual pleasure. The procedure involves tightening of loosen perineal muscles and recreate tighter vaginal opening. Similar to vaginoplasty, the result of perineoplasty will lead to greater sensation during sexual activity for both partners.
This procedure is usually performed under anesthesia and at same-day out-patient facility. Labiaplasty, a surgical procedure to beautify the outer appearance of the vagina by reducing the size and/or reshape the labia minora, may be combined with perineoplasty for total rejuvenation.
